For centuries, sandalwood was Hawaii’s prized commodity, its trade bringing prosperity and unity to the islands. King Kamehameha the Great used sandalwood trade to unite the islands, weaving it into Hawaii's history and traditions. This legacy is honored as they share it once again with the world.
Partnering with a family-owned Hawaiian business dedicated to reforestation, they’re restoring Hawaii’s rare native dry-land forest, once devastated by invasive species and over-harvesting. More than 500,000 native trees have been replanted in their efforts.
Sandalwood has long been cherished for its calming, grounding properties, its rich, woody aroma a symbol of tranquility and spiritual connection. Used in traditional Hawaiian healing, it nourishes the skin with its deeply moisturizing, anti-inflammatory qualities, promoting a youthful glow while helping to heal and soothe. The oil, rich in sesquiterpenes, is known to enhance the skin’s elasticity and support cell regeneration.
Their forest management plan is rooted in respect, allowing only dead or dying trees to be harvested—those with less than 50% of their canopy remaining. These trees, averaging 45 years of life, offer their gifts at the end of their natural cycle. They harvest with care, never damaging the trees, unlike conventional sandalwood production.
